so my 01 accent with the 1.6 DOHC is in very good condition for its age. and with only 73,000 miles. no leaks or anything. but it seems when the temperature outside is in the 50's and colder, when i first start my car in the morning, when the rpm's drop it wants to stall out but it wont stall. the rpm's drop below 1000 rpm, the car shakes and it sounds like its gonna stall. but then it goes back up and does the same thing about 3 or 4 times. it will do this EVERY chilly mornin. but once it does all that about 3 or 4 times, it runs fine. but it will do it again at the end of the day and every morning. the check engine light has come on twice before and was flashing. seemed like it was skipping. any ideas??

Try scrubbing the throttle plate and bore with a toothbrush and carb.. Then with engine running shoot carb toward throttle buttrfly so it gets sucked through the idle air control bypass port and see if it improves..
