QUOTE (JimtT @ Jun 23 2010, 10:41 AM) index.php?act=findpost&pid=335531
sprayed some carb cleaner fluid around the intake manifold... no change.... in the RPM....

Took out the plugs and they all look great... even light grey color, no oil residue

took compression readings dry and wet and they are really screwy....

as follows:

about 10 engine revolutions per test

about 1/2oz of oil in each cylinder for wet test letting it sit a couple minutes

cyl. Dry Wet
1 150 120
2 140 170
3 135 175
4 120 150

like I said weird... maybe Im doing this wrong.... whats the best way to do the compression test? how many engine
revolutions should be done?

forgot to mention one thing.... the exhaust CO2 is original with 110k on the car.. tried last year to remove it, but its stuck fast, I have a new one and am soaking it now to see if I can replace it

thanks
jim
That is odd. Did you recheck cylinder 1?

Also, give TSB 99-36-014 a look.
