Hello, I have to remove the engine on my XG300,could anyone tell me if it is possible to leave the gearbox in the car or is there not enough room to clear the torgue converter ?
it looks alot easier to leave the gearbox in the car with drive shafts still attached and rotors etc

the engine and gearbox comes out as one unit, its alot of work...good luck

thanks, some one said it could be an option to take the engine/gearbox and sub frame out under the car, and lift the car up and leave the complete thing sitting on the floor ??

the unit will come out from the top or you can remove it from under after removing the subframe, there are pictures from another member somewhere on the XG forum from a member who has done this, you will need to search the forum to find it
