I tried to slide the front passenger seat on my 2006 CM forward today. Its electric. It moved a few cm then stopped. I moved it backward, it moved a few cm then stopped. I tried to move it forwards again, it moved a shorted distance than previously -same with backwards. I started car and tried again in case it was a battery issue - no luck: hardly moves at all now.

Anyone got experience with the motor that moves the seat back and forth? Is this the way it usually fails?
Is it a pain to fix?
thanks

Sure sounds like a motor. But could be an object stuck in the rails. Might try taking the seat out and looking for an obstruction.

I had to replace the Driver's side power seat switch at 230,000km back in November 2016.

The cost for the switch was $363.34 but fortunately, I was able to install the switch by myself.
