Hi guys

My hood sticker for the motor spec say xxxxx2.0xxxx

why not xxxxx1.8xxxx ? old gen sticker ?:confused:

That makes me wanna check mine now...

*update* went and looked, my car has the same 2.0 in the "group type" serial number. However after decoding the VIN, the car does in fact have a 1.8L motor in it. I will ask my dealer if they can decode what this serial number that hold 2.0 means.

You're looking at a cryptic emissions control group spec - I doubt this number has diddly-squat to do with displacement. Would you assume "G30" indicates 3.0L of displacment?

i have been in a garage for oil change and the guy told me it mean 2.0l ... i told him that its only 1.8l in gt ....

I just mailed off a package of UPC codes from cereal box tops. As soon as my super-secret Hyundai decoder ring arrives, I'll decipher that nonsense for you. It probably reads: "Buy Another Hyundai GT." Sounds familiar, doesn't it!
