i'm doing a intake rebuild, and i noticed some oil in my purge tank which i can assume is a result of the egr function. i'd like to disconnect this and plug the vacum holes. i want to prevent all those oil fumes from getting in my engine and smooth out the intake runner.

is there anything about this i should know about? people have told me that i might throw a cel code, or that pressures might build up under the valve covers (hence a vented cap)

what do you think?

You can try to take the EGR off the 2.7 if you can find it,,,,, but the 2.7 has no EGR system.

EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation,,, has nothing to do with oil.

my bad. i was confusing the egr and the positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) tubes. i want to remove the tube from the valve cover to the intake, and i wanted to know what i should be concerned about. the idea is to plug/smoothen the inside of the intake, and leave the hose connected so it looks like it's still connected.

do i have to worry about pressure under the valve cover ?
