I had the opportunity to drive in snow for the first time since purchasing our Palisade. The snow mode worked great, the only issue I found was that as I drove, the cross wind was blowing snow sideways across the highway. The snow built up on the front sensor and was causing the crash detection feature to alarm. Has anyone else experienced this?

I don't have a Palisade yet, but I have very commonly experienced that on my 2016 Maxima. Sometimes even in heavy (or not so heavy) rain.

2017 SFS, heavy slush/damp snow/freezing rain messes the sensor... sometimes I pull over, clean it, and get back in.
if the weather is really bad you might have to disable it for that trip.
