Just a confirmation of a suspicion. The sales brochure shows mode settings. Yet, the actual drive knob has no markings or illuminations as to mode setting (e.g. Smart mode). The only mode indicator is that which illuminated on the instrument cluster. Agree?

The FWD Palisade has no markings on the knob, but you do get Smart, Comfort, Eco and Sport. You're correct that the only indicator of the mode is in the cluster (and it briefly shows on the infotainment screen if you enable that option).

The AWD Palisade does have markings on the knob, which are also lit. You get the same modes + Snow, and the center of the knob allows you to lock the differential, but only up to a certain speed (I think 25 mph but I don't recall for sure). You also get the same cluster indicator and infotainment if you so choose.

Other countries (like Canada) also get a Mud and Sand mode. The US does not.
