I'm going crazy! The door sensor in my 2009 Elantra i30 thinks the door is open when it isn't. It's running the battery down because the little display that shows when a door is open is always on.

If you push on the door when it is closed you can get the sensor to register the car door as closed, and adding a fair bit of tape to thicken the post the door closes on can get it to go off, but only with a lot of effort because the moment it closes, the door slices into the tape and pulls it off of where it needs to be.

What can I do? Is there an easy fix or hack? Can I pull a fuse and get the display stay off? All I really need is to stop that **** power drain.
