just wondering if anyone has replaced the door lock actuator (im doing the right rear door) on a 2012 santa fe CM (2.2 CRDi) and used a part from an earlier model (eg 2007 - 2009) - it looks the same but just wanting to double check before i order the part from aliexpress

im not looking forward to doing the job - it sounds like a lot of fiddling around but i cant ignore it anymore and the dealer wants to charge me $650 so i think even if it takes a few hours itll be worth it

I believe 2010-2012 are the same part numbers (#814203K000). The electronics might be different which is why it's a different part number even though they look the same.

I replaced the right front lock actuator on my 2007 this week. It was not fun, but it's nothing the shade tree mechanic can't handle. The biggest problem is removing the glass, but you can disconnect the glass and hold it up into the door frame with duct tape. You will need to "remove" the window to take out the door module.
