2007 Hatchback.
Can anyone tell me if there are any "convenient" holes in the firewall which could be used to to get a wiring hook-up direct to the battery. I need to connect a transceiver for mobile use. On all other cars I owned, there was always a spare hole or two with an easily pierced rubber plug. There could well be one on this car and I'm probably looking straight past it!!

Yes - I am aware of the possible hazards of direct to battery connections but please bear with me. I'm a radio operator and direct connections in other cars have always been properly fused, switch controlled etc. I can't use the internal "cigar lighter" connections, since my radio can draw up to 16+ amps.

Thanks in advance for any help.

in the drivers footwell above the pedals, there is a spot where existing wires are run through the firewall. it has a little plastic cover that can be removed for easier access. I had no trouble feeding some wires through there for my driving lamp installation. you dont even need to "pierce the rubber plug" just push a wire through next to the existing wires, and pull it through from the engine bay.
