Sonata 2.0 crdi, leaks diesel over inlet manifold. As far as I can see, it comes between manifold and engine - so the gasket leaks? Found it because of strong smell of diesel when stopping after driving for awhile.

What's wrong and how to repair? I'm newbie with diesel engines, but capable of using tools.

Diesel engines are direct injection. Meaning the fuel is injected directly into the cylinders. So there shouldn't be any diesel in the inlet manifold. Are you sure it's not leaking from the fuel rail which is mounted above the manifold?

If I helped you fix it, why not...

Your support is greatly appreciated

I understand that, that's why I'm so confused. In the first place I thougth there would be a leak in the injectors but there is no diesel / leak around injectors and I could not see any leak or anything like that on the rail.
