Dealer in New Port Richey, FL just called and sent me a photo of a 2014 Sonata Hybrid. Trying to go tonight to see.
This will be a first for Hyundai to have the new Hyundai Sonata Hybrid (HSH) come out before that year starts. Please get info on the price and the mpg numbers.

That video that you posted has been out for well over a month and I am almost positive it is actually a 2013 model. I know it states 2014, but like I said they had posted this on Aug 19th. No way they had a 2014 that long ago and no other information is really out there about it.

I'm with you on this not being a 2014 but the video probably applies to all 2011-2014 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid (HSH).

I was guessing this was the case as the new cars are unusually reviewed by journalists like Wayne Gerdes before they hit the dealerships. Make sure you have the salesman verify the year and model on the cars sticker before making the trip.

Comparing 2013 Hybrid Sedans

Hybrid Car Comparison

Fuel Economy (city/hwy)
....................................2014
$26,445 .....$26,700....$29,155...... $27,995....$26,950
Sonata........ Optima......Accord......Fusion....... Camray
36/40.......... 36/40....... 50/45.......47/47.......43/39

Fuely Average

37.2 (15)...... 33.2 (2) ......... ..... 41.7 (12).......39.7 (43)

It looks like Hyundai still has a lot of work to catch up but no other company is offering a lifetime warranty on the battery and value for the money.

I can't believe the average is so low...This flat central Florida area really makes a difference. I wonder if any MPG improvements will come with the 2014 HSH?

Future Hyundai's

I dought that they will refine the current design for 2014 but go with even newer tech like plug-in electric, fuel cells and LPG Hybrid.

Plug-in hybrid: A plug-in hybrid sedan is penciled in to arrive in the United States in mid-2014 as a 2015 model. Details about range, battery size and charging time are sketchy. The plug-in was previously expected to be sold as a stand-alone nameplate, but now a source at the company says it could be a variant of an existing nameplate.
