My 2004 Sta. Fe's tachometer bleeped out....then the Check Engine indicator is steady on. Tried diconnecting battery for a few minutes and upon reconnect....Check Engine indicator goes back on. Took it to electromechanic. He determined and suggest we replace the "Sensor - Crankshaft Angle". Part number 39310 38070. NOW, Where does this go and will it correct the Check Engine light and the Tachometer malfunction?

Thanks...

Check your fuses.
If I am not mistaken it is the top one of the middle row.

I once was towing a trailer, put it in reverse, got a short wire, fuse blew and immediately the Tachometer was gone as well. A little while later the CEL came on and it left me wondering what the **** had happened.

So before you start changing all kinds of sensors (which may still be the cause btw) check your fuses.
