I have a 2003 Elantra we are changing the motor due to severe overheating. I purchased a used engine. Before installing I decided to chnge timing belt, tensioner, idler pully & water pump. I am having a problem getting the crank pulley - harmonic balancer off.
Everything I have read says it should just pull off after removing bolt. Not mine. Not much room hammer or pry on. Is there a tool for removing it off the crank?

Please Advise

Wiggle it and spray some "blaster" on it.. rust has pulley sticking to crank nose, they normally just wiggle off.

Clean up before re-assemble, thin wipe of grease to pulley bore before install0

Autozone has a harmonic balance pulley remover tool in the loan-a-tool section. Not sure how to borrow the tool from them, but it does exist. I think it's free if you buy a timing belt or something from them.

Got it off. Took the pulley bolt & put it in freezer for 30 minutes. Not sure if that is what created a very small wiggle but it did & I wiggled it off alright.
Thanks for all the advise.
