I have a coolant leak near the water pump. I can't tell if the water pump is leaking or if it is coming from somewhere near the timing belt pulleys. The car isn't overheating just spewing coolant out that drains down to the oil pan area.

Could the water pump be leaking near the bottom?

It's likely your water pump is leaking out the seal. New water pump time. It's not that hard, you don't have to remove the timing belt methinks.

Thanks, it doesn't look too easy to get at. I just noticed the leak yesterday and am afraid I contaminated the timing belt. This is my beater car, so I'm trying to save money on repairs.

So I replaced the water pump and put a new seal after scraping the old gasket off. Went to add new coolant and it is still leaking from the right side of the motor behind the timing wheel cover. I don't know if there somewhere on the motor.
