I made no 'blanket' statement. I've owned over 20 new vehicles and NONE has had that feature; that's a FACT, and not 'misleading' or 'false'. Most people here are smart enough to take my comment for what it is. And we're talking about a freaking 12V outlet; if it's that important for people to be energized with the engine off, they should confirm that before buying a car, regardless of any comments made by anybody. Good day.
I've owned many vehicles they have all had 12v constant power with the ignition off

Since the cigarette lighters now are more a power port for devices, it makes sense as you normally do not want a constant power draw when the engine is off.

Hello,

Today I noticed that the 12 volt power outlets on my 2011 Sonata shutoff when the vehicle shuts off. On my old car the cigarette lighter would shut off, but not the power outlet. Is there anyway to make them stay on when the car shuts off? It is nice to be able to leave my phone in the car to charge.

Thanks.
My 2021 Sonata hybrid does not have a 12 volt lead acid battery as my Prius's had. I miss it.
Instead Hyundai uses a DC to DC converter that takes the high voltage propulsion battery, and drops the voltage down to about 14V. So to protect the only battery in car from over discharge, the hybrid system shuts down after 30 minutes.
With my Prius's, where I had a lead 12 V battery under the hood, during power outages at home, I would turn on the Hybrid system (Which stays on indefinably until the car runs out of gas) turn of all interior loads like lights or fans, the attach to the battery my 1200 watt power inverter. (Only used for my TV, modem/router, and few 6watt LED lamps, ) So, as the 12 volts battery dioschages, the Prius would automatically start the engine and recharge the 12 volt battery. On a few oocasions I would connect my fridge by itself to jolt up some cooling.
I cant do it with the Hyundai because its limited to 180 watts with a 25 amp fuse. And it shuts down after 30 minutes.

I would like to have the 12 volt outlet (rated at 180 watts safely) powered ON full time; (But with the Hybrid system also on.) The reason is during power outages at home, I have successfully used a small inverter & extension cord run into my living room; to power a table lamp, my TV & DVR . It draws about 130 watts. So until power comes back,my 60 watt LED table lamp gives me plenty light and I can also watch movies that are stacked up in my DVR. It beats sitting with a flashlight & feeling helpless. But the system shuts down after 30 minutes and I have to go out the car, and start it up. With the hybrid system on as the battery depletes the engine comes back on for a few minutes and charges all up again.
Any ideas out there on how to eliminate or extend the 30 minute Hybrid shutdown?

Does anyone know what the max safe wattage draw from the jumper post might be? Is it the same as the 12V power outlet?
(If its the same circuit, it would be an easier reach for the extension cord and the inverter.)
I used to do that with my Prius. Unfortuantely there is no 12 battery in my 2021 sonata hybrid. The 12V outlets is fused at 25 amps. Dont try anything over 300 watts with the inverter.
