Curious...we're trying to decide between Pacific Blue and Phantom Black mostly and the Red and Indigo Blue don't look bad online. Problem is we've been to 2 dealers and they have so few Sonatas in stock and they mostly only have Black, Gray or Silver to see in person. I'm always partial to Silver, but this isn't for me. The wife likes the Black, but a friend has the Pacific Blue that I like slightly better. Anyone get any of these colors and either really is glad they did or not as excited about the color after purchase and might suggest one over the other? Is the Pacific Blue any easier to clean over the Black? Thanks

When I bought my car I had originally purchased the PACIFIC BLUE PEARL. The day I was supposed to pick up the car the dealer called me and told me it would be another week to get that color. I said no problem, I will wait. So that weekend I went out to a different dealer and just wanted to see if I could do better on the price. I did $500 better but I had to choose a car that this new dealer had in stock. I chose the SILVER and I am so glad that is what I wound up with. A freind I work with has the same car but in the PBP and I just think the SILVER just pops over the other color. Just my $.02.
:)
I am not putting down PBP. Like I said that was my first choice. Just didn't work out that way.

My opinion:

Black, silver blue, and red are the colors to get. For your wife, I think silver blue would be a good color (not that a guy can't drive silver blue, I just think of overly fiery colors as lending to a women's car)

Guess it also depends what interior color you want.

I own Pacific Blue Pearl. My wife liked the color A LOT. Its sophisticated and looks damned good shined up. Really close to black, but not black...

We wanted a Ventian Red but could not deal with the uber light interior. I had a chance to get the Black on Black, but the wife like the Pacific better so now its in my driveway.

Color is very "personal" best way to determine is look at it in bright sunlight and in overcast/rainy weather. What we like might not necessarily be what you like.

Good luck!

Interior color is one thing I haven't done the final research on, thanks for reminding me. We definitely want a darker interior, typically Charcoal. I will go check out the different interior options now and maybe that will help decide. I saw an Indigo Blue one in front of me on the way home today and I didn't care for it personally, so I really think it will be a choice between black or pacific blue. Thanks for the interior comment.

Edit: Ah, thanks so much for mentioning interior colors, I did not realize certain exterior colors only have certain interior options. Since the Pacific Blue doesn't have the Black Leather interior, I'm thinking it may be Black that we go with. Black on Black appeals most to me, will see what the wifey says.

Hey dudeman135 -

I know I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but I've only seen 2 interior "roof/ceiling/headliner" colors:

Camel

and

Gray

The Camel interior gets the Camel interior "ceiling" while all the othes - Gray, Black, and Wine interiors - get the Gray "ceiling".

I'm happy with the Gray interior which is actually two-tone with Black (and the Gray "ceiling").

Honestly, I did not notice that part of the Black interior also included some Gray too when I was looking at the various interior colors.

Just something to add to the mix.

Tonight wifey said she might be leaning toward the dark gray color with the black leather interior...which I find funny cause she always tells me Silver isn't really a color when I pick that for my vehicles...neither is Gray really! :p Gray works for me, it will probably depend on what Limited the dealer or the ones in the vicinity have in stock, will see!

Silver might not be a color but "Radiant Silver" is!! Love mine with the two-tone gray/black interior...On the Limited the Radiant Silver looks so purty with all the chrome...But I also love all the colors!!!

I never can decide which color I like best on the Sonata. I like the Harbor Gray but sometimes it seems a little dull, like there's not much depth to it. I wish it was just a little more sparkly or something. I like the Pacific Blue but I wish it was a bit less dark. It almost looks black. But when the sun is on it, I really like it. I guess my first choice would be Pacific Blue, then Harbor Gray, and then Radiant Silver, but it depends on when you ask me; I keep changing my mind. One thing is for sure though : I must have the gray interior. I like the way the gray contrasts with the black console and trim. I have never liked all-black interiors.

If possible, look at the interiors in person too. My first color choice was the Indigo Blue but the IB SE comes with a weird two tone gray/black interior (and not just the headliner) that I think is hideous. There's no way I could deal with that interior on a daily basis so that narrowed my color choice pretty much to the Red since the other exterior colors didn't do much for me.

Bottom line is you'll be looking at the interior a lot if you drive a lot so make sure it's appealing to you.

Once you go black you don't go back!

JK. I got a black and i'm sure you know my answer. I'm willing to bet that others here are recommending their own colors too, but thats ok. I would wait or get white as a second choice.

Interior colours are a personal thing but since you spend more time inside your car than looking at the outside, you had better be satisfied with it. We originally wanted a Venetian Red Sonata but the mustard colour interior was a turn off so we settled for choice #2 Harbour Grey with a grey interior and the standard balck trim. At least it all flows together much nicer than the "beige" interior with th ebalck interier. The silver colour might have worked but there are already four siver cars on our block.

I have the Venetian red SE and I have the grey/black interior. It is a real eye turner. My friend wanted the same color but he does undercover surveillence and he said it would not work for him.

We went for the black. Dirty, black is an ugly car, but clean, you can't beat it imo. I get the blues mixed up, but as someone else said, one of them looked like a faded black, and the other one (which I thought I would like from pix) simply looked too purplish for my tastes in direct sunlight. I was also interested in the red, but they simply weren't available anywhere within a 100 mi radius when I was ready to pull the trigger.
