HI All,

I have a 2001 V6 Santa fe done just over 160000 Km, been having a problem with cold starts in the morning.

Once the engine is started the idle goes up and down for few times, sometimes to the point of stalling. The I have to crank it up again. after about a minute the entire thing settles down and I have smooth running engine and starting up the rest of the day.

I have recently done an overall service, an oil change but this problem is still there. Check the ignition leads and plugs all OK. I was told by my mechanic that this could be the result of a faulty battery. Could this be the case? has anyone here had this problem?

I am thinking of changing the battery, but would like to hear some suggestions.
