My grlfriend bought a 58 reg 1.1 gsi yesterday and we both find that the clutch pedal bites very high.
Is there any adjustment to make it bite closer to the floor?
no way of adjusting it, thats how it is, you will have to get used to it.

Hi.
If you look a little further down the forum columns, you'll find a post titled "Getz clutch, cable or hydraulic". Unfortunately, with a hydraulic clutch, there isn't the scope for adjustment, unlike a cable operated clutch. If the pedal is near the top of it's travel, this usually means that the clutch is nearing the end of it's life. If the car has a fairly high mileage for it's age, or the previous owner tended to 'ride the clutch', this can cause premature wear. My Wife's Getz 1.4 has covered 52000 miles without clutch problems, and the pedal 'bites' just below midway, so hopefully hers has plenty of mileage left in it. Is your Getz clutch starting to slip at all when your foot is off the pedal?
LC.
