07 Santa fe is new to me, my question is I noticed that when I have the temp at 17(in Canada) without the AC on I see water dripping under the car, I dont believe the AC should come on unless I turn it on. Is that correct, also what does the A with a circle around it do.
Thanks

AC does come on in Defrost modes !! All vehicles work that way.

Other than that see if you see the compressor clutch engaging cycling it on and off.

Fill in a signature so we can see the full build info. Go the Tools, Quick Links and you'll see the Edit signature.

It's supposed to do that. Freon takes the humidity out of the air. What you see is the humidity that was taken away. There's a small hose that comes out of the right side firewall.

Yes, thats why the AC comes on in either of the two defrost modes most vehicles have to clear the window from humidity. Set to the floor or bi-level if you don't want the AC to cycle.

FYI, in the elantra, there's a way to override the automatic A/C in defrost modes by holding down the A/C button and pressing the recirculate button five times. After you have done that, the A/C will still turn on when you set a mode to defrost, BUT now you'll have the option to press the A/C button and actually turn it off.

I only recommend people do that if they actually know the correct conditions to turn on and off the A/C.
