I've been looking at a few chrome extras to add some flash to my 2008 Santy. I was looking at the headlight, taillight, fog light, grill, door handles, and side mirrors to add chrome to. I was looking at the items with the 3M adhesive tape and am concerned that they won't hold up long term through the winters (I'm in the snow belt, southern Ontario) or in high pressure car washes.

Any ideas on how simple the installs are, the longevity of the items, and what's worth the actual price?

Also, does anyone know if they can add chrome to the hatch handle? It seems odd they'd provide the chrome for the door handles but not the hatch.

Thanks,

I have the taillight covers, rear trunk garnish and mirror covers. I was also concerned about the longevity and how they would hold up during the winter. I have had mine on for just over 2 years and they still look like the day I bought it. I bought a warranty with it incase anything happens, they replace it no questions asked.

I take it throw the car wash and blower at work and never have had a problem. They install in about 15 minutes and are very easy to do, just be sure to clean the area very well.

I paid a lot for mine because it was just when they came out. I am doing chrome packages at work and I find you can get a whole package for about $125.

Hope this helps

me too. Though, i will skip the side mirrors and fog light surrounds probably - just personal taste. I am also interested in the rear latch handle in chrome. I notice they sell one for the previous pre-05 model.

Mine came with the rear garnish already on it.

Where can i get a full package from though?

How solid do these bits look, I mean in terms of asthetics? For example, do the door handles feel like a stick on cover, or like part of the actual handle? Are there any gaps or anything like that? Particularly with the pillars - i wonder if the gaps might be too obvious?

Thanks

I like the look of the side mirrors, not big on the fog lights though. For the rear latch handle, this one is the actual part (not a tape on like the normal ones) Not a bad price, I haven't bought it yet but will be doing so some time this year when it's not snowing.

Not sure if you can actually get a full package, I've been buying parts here and there, doing that you get to choose what you actually want.

I actually quite like the look of the chrome pieces. The rear tail lights you can notice they're on top of the light housing (as opposed to the 2010/2011 Santa Fe where it looks much nicer), but the door handles aren't noticeable as a tape on unless you're really trying to feel for it, they're pretty flush.

I'm not a huge fan of the pillars myself, but again, to each their own! I wasn't sure if it would be noticeable on the pillars because you're adding a few 8ths of an inch in thickness there.

Good luck and add pictures for what you buy!

Ok, here is the stuff i am thinking of getting. It would be great to hear from other people who have already installed some of these bits, to know if they are good enough quality or not.

interior kit:

door pillars

front headlights:

Or there are these, but i think they might be overkill

rear headlights:

exterior door handles (can you get internal ones in chrome?):

car mats (i have standard genuine ones, but think these might look quite good):

dash surround (tempted to get this, but will probably not as it might be overkill):

Cheers

I think its difficult to get the right amount of chrome on a car. I dont want to overboard, but i think the car needs some more chrome on it.
At the end of the day the car is dark blue, and chrome goes really well with that colour, same as a white car does (i wish my santa was white)

So here goes...

Not sure what to think of that, it may be blinding to have my lights reflecting off that in my dashboard!!

Not a big fan, I saw another car (Chrysler 300M) with these and it looks kind of funny, just like someone shoved some chrome between the doors because there was space!

I have them but haven't put them on yet, I was waiting for this disgusting white stuff to go away before I apply the adhesive. They look lice though.

I like the simpleness of the first ones better.

Love 'em, the only problem is that don't look like they're as nice as the 2010/2011 rear lights where the chrome is actually inside. But then again, at least all my 2008 lights actually work ;P

I think they look great on the car, a nice addition. They are pretty flush with the handle, and unless you really try to feel the lip by rubbing your hand on the inside of the handle you can't really tell they're stick on.

Too much? If you're anywhere that gets snow/muddy I can only imagine how they'd look after some bad weather.

You might be better to keep the chrome on the outside of your car :D

A couple more for you:

Chrome Rear Accent
Rear Hatch Handle (for those of us without Limited models)
Rear Step Bumper Garnish (This might actually be a good one for the 2010 people who have paint on theirs instead of the rubber part)
Chrome Grille
A less flashy Chrome Grille

Both Carid and KoreanAutoImports sites are fantastic!!

If you find anything not available there, please do let me know!!
