Hi there,

I have a 59 plate I10 with 30,000 miles on the clock.

For a week or so now when I start it in the morning it will make a whistling kind of chirping sound. Sometimes it won't make the noise at all.

When I press the clutch in it stops and when I release it, the noise starts again - lasts about 5 seconds then goes.

Does anyone know what this might be? Concerned how much I'll be charged for clutch problems!

Many thanks,
H :)

I wouldn't worry to much Harriet most cars with a manual gearbox make a little noise with the clutch disengaged, the clutch plate can rattle and whir as it spins.
As long as everything else sounds OK when its engaged and the clutch works without any other problems.
