Looking great! Congratulations!
Congrats! I think the Sonata is one of the only cars that can really pull silver off and still look excellent!
If you have a chance tomorrow, take your front license plate off and put something between license plate and your front bumper. (if you want to keep the paint on the bumper)

Why? Does it peel out the paint? My other car did not have anything in between and it was fine.....just curious. Any suggestion on what I should put in between?
Yes. if you leave it as is for 2 months like me, you will see a bare bumper right behind the license plate when you take it off.
On the subject of front license plate, it's a crime having to drill the darn bumper to install it. Fortunately, dealer didn't touch my car only because no bracket is provided, but man, I could NOT do that job :eek:fftopic:  . I haven't had a problem not having a front plate for 25 years, but if I ever do, at least I could just temporarily install the brackets on my other vehicles. On this one I'd have to invent something; maybe double-sided tape, with 2 bolts sheared off and glued to the license plate so whoever checks it thinks it's actually bolted. Oh well. At least I was given the 2 screws to perpetrate such a crime < he he>.
Well in that case, I better get some kind of bracket or rubber padding. I would hate to see my car without paint.

WTF!! Seriously? ****, I'm gonna have to check this out tomorrow on mine.
So I went to my local walmart and bought a license plate bracket along with some universal all weather clear mats. When I took off the license plate, I did see to scratches already from the license plate....dammit! I a piece of the clear plastic from the floor mats, and placed it between the bumper and the bracket before installing the plate back to make sure that the plastic bumper won't scracth the paint either. The question is.... what about the back?
Just few scratches. Good enough.
I checked the back one, there was rubber pieces and little round protection tapes on screw holes. You don't need to be worried about it too much.
However, I put electric tape on the back of my license plate to make sure rusty metal is not touching my trunk lid which is another metal piece.
Looks Great! Congrats!
Nice to see another Silver Sonata in NoVA. If you're ever cruising out in Leesburg, look me up!
We should get together sometime. I'd like to meet 2011 sonata owners in nova. Share tips tricks and even help each other add new accessories or do maintenance work.
