Has anyone ever changed the Spark leads on a 2001 Santa FE 2.4? Is it easy to do, any pointers on things that can go wrong?

I've never done a Santa Fe but general principles are all pretty much the same.

Just replace one lead at a time, matching each one up with the replacement lead

To remove the lead, grasp by the rubber boot and twist to loosen before you pull the lead off.

Make sure the leads run through the guides that keep the wires apart. If they get too close togehter its possible for arcing to happen between one lead and another.

A digital or polaroid camera comes in handy for making sure you get everything back toghether the way it is supposed to be.

Gordo, mate you are pretty impressive with your abundance of knowledge (Gordo is now getting a huge head :lol: ).

My question is that your car is a 2001 model, you still have until 2006 to get everything replaced under warranty, if it is causing you problems.

But if you insist on replacing them, just carry out the replacement in the manner that Gordo has stated.
