Even if it does fit, which would be nice, how loud would it sound? I was planning on buying a Borla Turbo and a glasspack resonator to keep the sound down while still getting good flow, but it would be nice to only spend $300 on their catback instead of 300 + labor on my own system.

I went w/ a custom setup. I have a 2.25" inlet/outlet magnaflow hi-flow cat w/ 2.25" piping (mandrel bent) going back to a knock-off twin loop muffler w/ a 3 or 3.5" outlet. I have gotten nothing but compliments on the sound and it's not too loud on the highway. the cat from autozone was $90, muffler was $100 from some online site (just google twin loop muffler), and the piping and install was only $120 from a local shop.

It'd be cool if someone could actually buy it again and see if it actually IS compatible with our cars this time...

I spoke to them yesterday.. I told them WTF! you need to change your page thats misleading and ****.. because no it does not fit our cars! but those idiots have it listed for 06-11. so no it does not fit!

Just go custom, it's about the same price and you can get what you want. I ordered my muffler from Amazon, they stock all that Magnaflow stuff. Any exhaust shop can do it and probably do all the time.

My shop mechanic wants me to go cat-less (it's not illegal here), but I don't think I could stand having a constant CEL on all the time. The increased power and such would be nice, but that light on the gauge would just kill me. He said I could probably find something to fool the O2 sensors, but I doubt it - I've been browsing on these forums for a while now and the way I see it, if none of you have mentioned it by now, it probably doesn't exist.

Not to mention if something actually did go wrong with the car, it'd be more difficult to notice I would imagine. They should really just have a "Emissions CEL" and a "Everything Else CEL" haha

The difference between a pipe and a high-flow cat is negligible, I saw a dyno test on a car with more horses than ours (can't remember what it was, maybe a Mazda3, or a 325i) and the difference is 1 HP. The stock vs the high-flow was like 5 HP difference.

Catalytic converter laws are Federal laws, not state laws, so Florida definitely has them, You may not have emissions tests or ever get fined, but just know it IS illegal.

Florida? What about Alberta?
 LOL, my B! There were so many people posting about it on here, I just skimmed where you were from. I have no idea where I got Florida from!?!? Just know it's illegal there.

An o2 spacer with the sensor further from the engine should get rid of the CEL. Turbo VW guys without cats use them directly on their custom downpipe to fool the second o2 sensor. 2 spark plug foulers also work.

Then for visual inspection, a fake cat.

If only there was a way to figure out how far from the engine to put the second sensor without trial n' erroring it. There's not a whole lot of real estate with the length of our car :) I'll definitely keep the spacers in mind though. I'm not quite ready to overhaul the exhaust just yet, I've got one more expensive mod on the list before the exhaust and I'm hoping to do it within the next month or so... depends on the hours I get at the shop this month. Once I get it though, I'm gonna make a whole lotta you very jealous :D

I was curious if any of you Canada guys have the Vibrant Exhaust. ANd any pics of it on your car. Also what does the stock SE and SR exhaust look like in Canada?

And has anyone tried to get the exhaust directly from Vibrant? I emailed them and they never replied to me.

I think he's referring to the Hyundai Canada official catback, which is made by Vibrant.

To **** with the official catback. The price on that thing's unreal at most dealerships here. I'm waiting to see the KFX one right now, before I go and build my own.
