What Hyundai department did YOU call? Lol CarPlay is available on all Hyundai models 2015+ with a 7” or 8” touchscreen... which is [essentially] every one since 2015. It literally says this on Hyundai’s website, so I’m not sure how an employee at Hyundai could be so severely misinformed.

However, Sonata Ultimate is a hybrid model, which does not come with a touchscreen IIRC - CarPlay would not be compatible with this particular trim level.

My 2016 Hybrid Ulitimate has touch screen. Any GPS Hyundai GPS has a touch screen.

<<< Most Hyundai vehicles 2016 and newer equipped with Display Audio or Navigation have Apple CarPlay installed. Apple CarPlay allows you the ability to get directions, make calls, send and receive messages and listen to music through your car’s built-in display. If you don’t currently have Apple CarPlay, you may be eligible to download a software update. To download the software, you must be logged in to your MyHyundai account. If you are eligible, you will find a link to a download on the right side of the Multimedia and Navigation page.
To begin using Apple CarPlay, you will need an Apple iPhone SE/5 or newer with iOS 9.0 or higher with a data plan. Plug your phone in using a USB cable and follow the prompts. >>

I would just plug in your Iphone to your car. See what happens.

I have a 2016 Limited no Apple Car Play. Here in Canada we do not even have My Hyundai access, at least not that I know of.

Actually stumbled across that yesterday and did the upgrade last evening. Funny I had asked my dealer to tell me when it became available, they must have forgotten!
