Hi all,
My car is Hyundai Tucson 2008 2.7 liter. I was having some battery issues on my car. After I reconnected the battery, car started fine but the gear shift is struck in park. I tried to move the shift with little force and shift moved but the car did not move. I have put the shift back to park and switched off the car.
Now the car does not turn on and shift is still struck.
Does Hyundai Tucson 2008 have shift release button?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have moved gear shift to Neutral using little force and car started fine. But now I can move the gear shift to reverse with little force and car moves in reverse direction. But even with force I can not move the shift to drive mode.
Any ideas?

Sounds like shift linkage is busted or loose
And you may have an issue with the park neutral safety switch
And/or transmission is in need of TLC

Thanks for your response. Do you know where is the park neutral switch? What is TLC? Is the repair expensive?
