Ok guys....You are always very helpful....Here is another issue I am starting to have...

2005 santa fe- car will not start when turning key.....Turn it again and it will start...It could be starter starting to go bad as it does not crank at the time. Battery and alt are fine.....I did have a tranny connector issue two weeks back and they replaced the main connector to the tranny.....Is there anything else to look at other then a potential issue with a starter going south?????

Thanks

If you turn the key and nothing is heard...the ignition switch is intermittent.

Electrical Contact

Last winter my car would not start, same symptom as yours. Wound
up disconnecting the high amp feed wire on the starter and cleaned it with
some fine grit sandpaper, it had a dull finish prior. After contact cleaning,
no issues for past 13 months. Cheap fix if you want to take the time.
Let us know results of your efforts.

Good luck,
Paul

I had similar symptoms during the summer.
In the supermarket parking lot with ice cream in the trunk.
Put the key in and turned it. Nothing. No click. Nothing.
After a little while and taking time to look up the number for a tow, it started
Got it home. Next day, cleaned up all the terminals on the battery, alternator, starter
Cleaned up the grounding strap on the chassis from the battery neg.
Even changed the ignition switch.
Haven't had any starting issues since.
Still fighting the P0440 Evap DTC
Thinking about selling the rust bucket
