Hi,
I have a australian 2006 cm 2.2 diesel santa fe.
A couple of days ago the engine blew and ive been looking for a replacement.
I located another motor at a hyundai wrecker , its from a 2006 cm diesel, so i thought 'great'.
However, the wrecker said that its from a manual, and wont fit an automatic (which mine is)

Does anyone have any advice on this?

I intend on doing the replacement myself. Ive done a couple of engine replacements on other vehicles and tho im not a mechanic im reasonably competent, imho ?

I'm 99% sure it won't work because the engine control system will be different. However, some of the experts may have a different opinion.

If there are any issues with this swap I'd expect them to be mechanical. I don't see any problems with the electrics (engine control system) if you use the harness from your original engine.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Im intending to swap it straight in so I'm thinking that there wouldn't be any harness issues?

I'm about to look thru the workshop manual to see what's the go there.

If there's any other advice or ideas I'm all ears
