SM states C is in 2nd gear.

Yet, KD switch remains closed …. and …. gear ratio matches 1st's.

Why is the ratio not 2nd's?

Actually, it's perfectly legit. O'scope shows the shift solenoids in C. Official Hyundai scanner - simultaneously connected - shows shift solenoids in C. SM states C is 2nd gear. But, creeping ratios match 1st gear's spec ratio. And, this applies in D and in 2.
