14 months, 17k; total time - 5 minutes to replace because I took my time emptying the glove box and getting the camera.

I don't know what scares me more. How much junk this filter collects or the fact that my Sequoia does not have one? :blownose: How's that for the allergies?

That is how my filter looked after not being changed for a while.

Now I change it regularly.

Here is a couple customer filters,, Had Entourage recently, pulled filter out, duct above full of leaf and bird seed, the whole column of trash fell straight down into the HVAC fan... took some time to clean, ended up grinding the last bit through the squirrel cage and somw blew out the ducts..

Yep, I check mine every 6 months and they get dirty!

I let mine go 2yrs because I was thinking that if it was as difficult to remove as the one in my 03 Merc then I would be having it done at a garage. This forum wised me up as to how easy it is to do although I had to do it twice since after replacing it somehow debris had climbed up a cowl and got sucked back down. No big deal just strange I thought. Mine looked very similar to the pics on this thread except it had green overtones in the dirt from the pollen season, Those small leaves are a pain because if they get in the motor turbine (they cannot get in the motor itself so dont worry) they make a lot of noise! I will change mine every year. I paid about $20 for mine.
