Fram CF12058 filter claims:

  • Filters up to 98% of dust, pollen and other contaminants.1
  • ARM & HAMMER baking soda combined with carbon embedded in the filter assists in cleaning outside air flowing through the vehicle’s ventilation system.2
Also quite pricey.

FRAM fresh febreeze here
I've thought about getting a filter that has a built in freshener but it is too overwhelming of a scent or just enough to keep it smelling fresh?

The Fram Freshbreeze is just a name, no scent detected actually. I think it just neutralizes odors, baking soda is odorless. $23 cdn wasn't too pricey for me from Canadian Tire, first time I changed it in 2 years around 16k kms

Ha, finally replaced mine after over 3 1/2 years, felt the blower air speed was a bit slower. Found just one kind of strange looking insect on it, no fuzz. Is a carbon filter, reason for mildly restricting air flow, it was really damp.

Could have cleaned it the a vacuum cleaner and dried it out in my environmental chamber, but I purchased two spares back then in sealed plastic, so just stuck in a new one.

Since I have a dog, always replacing my furnace filter. Recall having these way back in the 1940's, maybe some engineer thought about this and started putting them in our vehicles. Its about time.
