Mine broke a week or so ago. The only thing I see is a center console replacement. I'm not sure what can be used as a replacement. Let me know if you come up with something that works. I'm out of 5/60.
Well, wifey (who is hard on cars) decided to break the cup holder of all things.
The little flip down/up thing that is used for smaller (cans) beverages...
Do you think this would be a warranty item?
Anyone know of an aftermarket replacement? I have searched and have not found anything...
Thanks..

The flip-up thingie came off mine a while back. It wasn't too difficult to replace, but it pops into the lid, which I don't think can be replaced. Do they make extra thick koozies? It may be possible to make something that takes up the extra space.
This item was subject to a FEDERAL RECALL. All Veteran Forum members should have known this :whistling:
Body, Interior & Misc.: EQUIPMENT
Service Bulletin Number: 501016
NHTSA Number: 10019156
Model Years Affected: 2006
Date of Bulletin: 02/2006
Bulletin Summary: REPLACEMENT OF FRONT CUP HOLDER RUBBER FLAP (CAMPAIGN T18).
Where are these screws?
The module is held to the underside of the console panel with 4 screws... If you have new cup holder ready to install, open center console lid, open the cup holder lid, grab cup holder lid and give it a carefull tug upward to pull the console panel loose.. there is 6 clips I think it is, as it comes loose, you'll see how the panel comes up & off.
Mine broke a couple months ago, out of warranty of course.
I thought the part was about $80.
Could be.. I think I put one a week or so ago, think it was like $95 installed
Anyway, there is an old thread here about drilling a hole in the fold down part and use a nail as a replacement pin. Which I haven't done.
New cup holder? Transmission flush?
Cup holder? Transmission?
Tough decisions.
Yea, yea. I was going to book the transmission flush until the ABS and ESC lights came on an hour ago (see my other thread.)Transmission, you need it to keep the car mobile...
Drink holder... all you gonna do is spill drinks and foul wiring and modules in the consle.. no liquids in the cabin...
I haven't been around much the last couple of years. This is news to me.Did I ever run your VIN for recalls & warranty history ?
Suzanna,I haven't been around much the last couple of years. This is news to me.
I don't know about that. My car is supposidly up to date on all the recalls.Suzanna,
Since the Cup Holder on the 2006 Units were recalled by the Federal Government, you would not need a "Warranty"
to have it replaced.
Let sbr711 run your Vin and see if the flip down flap replacement applies to your Unit. He might even be able to seeI don't know about that. My car is supposidly up to date on all the recalls.
