Broken Cup Holder

Well, wifey (who is hard on cars) decided to break the cup holder of all things.

The little flip down/up thing that is used for smaller (cans) beverages...

Do you think this would be a warranty item?

Anyone know of an aftermarket replacement? I have searched and have not found anything...

Thanks..

Mine broke a week or so ago. The only thing I see is a center console replacement. I'm not sure what can be used as a replacement. Let me know if you come up with something that works. I'm out of 5/60.

They fixed my arm rest latch I broke years ago so if you have a nice service guy and ask them to do it when your in for something else I am sure they will. If not get the part from a junk yard

I'm still under the 5/60,. maybe that will work, huh?
When mine broker it was replaced under warranty without issue.
The flip-up thingie came off mine a while back. It wasn't too difficult to replace, but it pops into the lid, which I don't think can be replaced. Do they make extra thick koozies? It may be possible to make something that takes up the extra space.
Mine broke but it was out of warranty i bought a new cup holder from the dealer about $50.00

Yes, thought about the fat koozie option....that 'Busch' Beer koozie from high school would work great! LOL...

Did a bunch of them on the first couple month production NF back in 2006.... it is the rubber flap..... fella has 2007 and says the fold down divider is broke... rubber flap recall not applicable to 2007 NF.

When the divider breaks, you have to replace the whole cup holder module in the console.. did 1 here a couple week ago, pretty simple, just remove the section of top console with the cup holder, and replace the holder (4 screws on underside)..
Where are these screws?

Mine broke a couple months ago, out of warranty of course.
I thought the part was about $80.

Anyway, there is an old thread here about drilling a hole in the fold down part and use a nail as a replacement pin. Which I haven't done.

The module is held to the underside of the console panel with 4 screws... If you have new cup holder ready to install, open center console lid, open the cup holder lid, grab cup holder lid and give it a carefull tug upward to pull the console panel loose.. there is 6 clips I think it is, as it comes loose, you'll see how the panel comes up & off.

Could be.. I think I put one a week or so ago, think it was like $95 installed

New cup holder? Transmission flush?
Cup holder? Transmission?
Tough decisions.

Transmission, you need it to keep the car mobile...

Drink holder... all you gonna do is spill drinks and foul wiring and modules in the consle.. no liquids in the cabin...

Yea, yea. I was going to book the transmission flush until the ABS and ESC lights came on an hour ago (see my other thread.)

No liquids in the cabin - without tops. Get real.
I remember my brother once saying no eating in the new car. Of course, his wife and kids listen to him. Never mind how the french fries on the floor got there.
Did I ever run your VIN for recalls & warranty history ?

I haven't been around much the last couple of years. This is news to me.

Suzanna,
Since the Cup Holder on the 2006 Units were recalled by the Federal Government, you would not need a "Warranty"

to have it replaced.

Let sbr711 run your Vin and see if the flip down flap replacement applies to your Unit. He might even be able to see

if the Dealer took care of this already. Plus your extended Service contract might cover it, although it's doubtful! :57:
