Hi all, I have a 2002 santa fe in which my toddlers cars seats are typically installed. Lately the automatic locking retractor (ALR) belt on the back passenger side only engages about 1 out of 100 times, and now is not engaging at all.

For clarification, I am installing the car seat then pulling the length of the belt all the way out, but the lock does not engage. It works fine on the other side where my other kids car seat is. And if I pull very hard or fast the emergency locking retractor (ELR) does engage like normal. In the one in a hundred time that it actually engages, then it stays locked for as long as needed, up to months at a time, until I take the belt off (or as happend this time, my 4 yr old takes the belt off without our knowing). Since this model of Hyundai does not have another way to install a car seat, without the ALR I cannot put in the carseat and my wife is stuck at home since the kids can't go in the car.

Any suggestions? Thanks!
