Did a full light check on the 2004 Accent before a trip and noticed that the brake lights work fine with the headlights off, but with the headlights on, the right tail light was brighter. Hit the brakes and the left matches the right, no change on the right tail.

Was hoping for a place to start.
Anything will help.

Did you happen to replace a light bulb recently ?

Quite common to see who changed their own light bulb by the dim tail light on 1 side, and bright glowing brake light on other side as they drive down the road with lights on..

Re-inspect the bulb install,,, note the 2 pins on outside of bulb' base. They match the slots in the socket so the lower watt filamet glow with lights on, and the higher watt filament glows nice and bright when brake pedal pushed..
