Hi, I currently drive a 2006 Santa Fe 3.5 and it has about 181k miles in it. My timing belt was replaced around the 100k mileage but the water pump was never replaced. As of now my car runs great, i change the oil every 4 months or so and i have no issues with the car whatsoever BUT there is a sound in my car that is concerning, after a few minutes of turning on the car there is a sound similar to that of a whistle or squeal followed by a slight metallic rattling sound, this sound goes away whenever I accelerate and returns when the car is idle or not accelerating. My question is, do you guys think this might be the water pump? I believe a timing belt change might also be needed soon so I should start thinking about taking it to a hyundai dealer to get it done but what do you guys think? thanks!
