There are tons of different sensors and wiring harnesses that go into an automatic climate control system and installing it after the fact would be cost prohibitive at best. Not to mention with the dual-zone temperature control there will be different duct work so I'd have to say that at best, it's not very plausible.

I have three cars with auto climate control (2 sonatas and a taurus) and the auto climate control is nothing but a pain.

There have been many complaints on the forum about it.

The Taurus has dual controls and I'm not too crazy about that it either.

I've always wondered about how effective dual climates in such a small environment as a car would be in reality. While "setting and forgetting" a temperature seem like a nice feature in theory, I've always wondered how responsive they really are in the ever changing environment of a car, i.e. changing direction/intensity of sunlight, changing outside temperature (which can change 40-60 degrees within 30 minutes around here), etc.

I have the dual auto climate control in my Ford Five Hundred. We rarely use the actual auto control since it pretty much guesses the current temperature and what setting it needs to be on to get to there. We've used it a few times when it gets in the cooler temperatures but other than that its kinda useless.

Like most of the stuff tacked on to cars nowadays.

I heard a few weeks ago that Mercedes and BMW were racking up horrible service records because the cars were basically OK, but all the little gizmos were failing

I love my auto climate control... I have friends with cars that don't have this feature and no matter what I cant get comfortable no matter what temp its set... It's ither to hot, to cold... Mine on cold mornings I set it at 78 and never have to touch it again until the afternoon when it gets warmer. I like the way the sonata auto climate control keeps the fan speeds down until the air has actually warmed up a bit
