Hi,

There are 2 types of Transmax that specify SP-III and Hyundai.

Castrol Transmax Import Multi-vehicle
or
Castrol Transmax Full Synthetic Multi-vehicle

Both ATFs are specified for Hyundai, but the Data sheets format differs.
Also the viscosity and weight differs: it looks like the Import Multi-vehicle ATF is heavier, with lower Pour Point ( I'm in Calgary, cold winters..).

(@170k km, flushed once, drain and fill twice, peviously used Full Synthetic Multi-vehicle, but considering the Import Multi-vehicle, perhaps the Pour point - -38C vs -50C is holding me back.

Any thoughts?

Hey, Im in Calgary and have used the Import one, but not really recall why I didn't use the synthetic.
If I were you I would stick the one u used before. It is synthetic and it would be another change in fluid if you use the other one.

This is my interpretation.

Transmax Import Multi-Vehicle is the older spec and up to SP III.

Castrol Transmax Full Synthetic Multi-vehicle is the newer spec to SP IV and is a lower Viscosity fluid

If you have the 5 speed auto which is based on the older Mits designs it'll be SPIII

If you have the newer Hyundai 6 speed auto it will be the SP IV and I would be using Castrol Transmax Full Synthetic Multi-vehicle

pete007, both ATFs are "full synthetic" ones.
Gerald 2, thx, for the clarification; last 2 drains were done with Castrol Transmax Full Synthetic Multi-vehicle , 50k km since,
much better than SP-III;
Reading the data sheets - Import ATF is specified for Hyundai SP-II and SP-III;
the Multi-vehicle is specified for Hyundai only (no details).
