I recently bought a used 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited, the car is eligible for a DIY upgrade to install apple carplay/android auto. However myHyundai.com has removed the download from their site.

Anyone have a copy of the file they can share so I can install it on my car? Thanks!

Good news.... significant changes were introduced. You do not need to provide a VIN Number anymore to get the software update.

UPDATE : GOOD NEWS FOR KIA AND HYUNDAI OWNERS IN CANADA AND USA.

As of September 2020, several KIA and Hyundai models, some even as old as 2014 Kia Soul for example, in Canada and US have access to FREE MapNSoft Map Update. This update includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These features were introduced in software update version 10.5 originally in 2018. So somehow if you are stuck on an older software version, now you can update your software for free. The one thing to note, it that if your model is eligible for the sw version 14.5 update, and your current SD card is 16GB, you will need to get a new 32GB SD Card (Class 10) which is about $15 online. If your vehicle is eligible for the sw version 14 update, then you are fine with your current 16GB SD Card. It is good to see that Canada is no longer being ignored. You can start your software download here: Mapcare | Home page

Thanks for posting links. I bought a 32gb SD card, downloaded the install software for Mac. Downloaded, installed and started program. The program formatted the new SD card and copied whatever files were needed to the SD card. my buddy has a 2016 Tucson Limited, I removed the original SD card from the head unit, inserted the new SD card, then I started the car., told car to update, took about 35 minutes to update, head unit rebooted several times, worked like a charm, now my buddy has Apple CarPlay, updated maps. Too bad my 2014 Elantra GT can’t be updated.

For your car, 2014 Elantra, you will not be able to get CarPlay, but you may still be able to buy newest map update. You may need to “order” an SD card from the Hyundai website for $30 + $20 shipping.
