I'm a little dissatisfied with the performance of the low beam projector style headlights on my 2016 Elantra GT. Searching the internet I see it is possible to modify a 65 watt H9 bulb to replace a 55 watt H11 bulb. I just happen to have a pair of H9 bulbs so I may give this a try but I have a couple of questions/concerns.

I don't want the extra wattage to melt the headlight or wiring.

The H9 bulb is all clear glass where as the H11 is painted black at the top or forward end of the bulb. Will this produce an unwanted beam pattern or does the projector style headlight use a shutter to cut off the light beam above a certain height?

Any experience with this?
