I've searched and read the threads and wonder if anybody's done this? The OEM mirror with compass and homelink doesn't have a thermometer, right? All the thermometers I've seen in places like ebay and amazon are pretty clunky.
Well, I did some more searching here and it seems that our cars use the wedge mirror mount, supposedly. That makes it more amenable to aftermarket mirrors. The gentex model with compass and thermometer looks appealing. I might try that after I get back from vacation.
i have one installed with compass and in/out temp and a video screen for my reverse camera. works great. it said to mount the outside sensor in the lower front grill which works but will cause it to show a higher temp if sitting in traffic with the heat coming off the payment. once you start driving it will start showing a lower temp. so not very accurate but close enough.
ie bank clock will say 75 and car will say around 78 while sitting at the redlight.
