I got a red SE. What's your opinion on that? I'm kinda going for a red/black color scheme (plus I personally don't like the chrome too much) so I just thought a black grill would be fitting.

My original option was to buy these black grill decals I found on Korean Auto Imports: http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/pro...roducts_id=4523

So now it's kind of a toss up between the two. Anyone reading this that can share their opinion would be great!

If I trade my car in for the turbo, I am going to go with white and add a black or carbon fiber grille, side spear, trunk garnish, etc.

I think on the red a carbon fiber or black grille (like the Photoshop above) would look great and set you apart from others with the same car. Far more sporty if that is what you are going for. I suggest black grille and have the trunk garnish and trunk emblem painted black and debadge the sonata.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Haha, of course not. Don't want to offend any of the fellow Sonatans around here :D

Ooooooh, really liking your idea. Definitely considering what you said. Would you consider smoking out your headlights? Probably not your tail lights since you got those super nice ones *envious* =/

It's cool I was more joking than anything. I wanted to get an SE initially, but there were none around when I had to buy my car. I do feel a little silly when I get flack for having a GLS when I put as much money into it that I could have owned a SE or Limited.

On most red cars I think it should be mandatory to have a slight tint on the tail lights. Then again the sonata is a dark red, but I hate when the red of the car blends into the orangey-red of the tail light. Personally I do not like blacked out tails, however I think a light tint would look really nice.

Head lights could be illegal depending where you live. Granted, it might not be enforced either. If you have money to blow and you don't want to tint them, here are a few options...

Or if you're brave you could bake the headlights, pry em open, and paint the housing black, looks a lot better that smoking the headlights imo. Another cheap option to black out headlights is to buy the film or spray.

Went to a local shop just now. Got price quotes for smoking headlights/tail lights.

$50 a piece. What do you guys think? Can I get it for cheaper?
Yes if you do it yourself.

You can buy the film from ebay ($10), or vht niteshades spray ($5) from your local autozone or pepboys.

Can it be used for headlights too? Because the description for the spray is only for taillights, turn signals, etc. Sorry, Eyecue. One more question. How are maxwell tints compareed to 3M?
