OK so my son knocked off the antenna of my wife's 2013 Accent at the car wash. It was the manual wash and not the automatic wash with brushes etc.

Not really his fault because the design is as such that a good downdraught from a butterfly wing would knock this off!

The base is held on with 2 tiny screws that come up through the roof under the headlining and the plastic is pretty brittle.

The dealership want $45 for a new base and then 1.5 hours of labour to fit it.

Probably cost me $200 at a guess with what they charge for labour here.

I'm not paying that and would like to go the sharkfin route. Nowhere seems to sell them here in Aus however.

In the meantime do you reckon I could glue it onto the plastic "plate" on the roof with Tarzan Grip glue (a really strong glue we have here in Australia) or something?

Any constructive advice appreciated.

I stuck it back on with Tarzan Grip super glue. Can't tell the difference.

I might buy the Hyundai Sharkfin as someone linked earlier when the funds are a little healthier.

Will be back for help later in removing the headlining.

Did someone mention that this would void the warranty?

I would like to have your old antenna if you ever replace it. I want to go the opposite route with my Gen Coupe. The shark fin on it is only for GPS and XM. The rear window grid antenna is the pits.
