I have a 2018 SE without a navigation system. I set up for the android auto app and I get the maps and navigation up on my screen and can use the phone and radio features but I cannot send or receive texts. I have a LG G 7 phone and all the updates are current.


Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yep... you have Android Auto !

It takes over the phone once you plug it in. You are limited with the things you can do.....

I would add that just because a phone will pair with a vehicle (Or hard wire through the USB) does not mean that every feature on any given phone will work. Many phones are not 100% compatible. Had two (That I know of) at our GM franchise last week. There may have been more for which a job card was never generated.
