My 2017 SFS 2.0T Ult is giving us a little bit problem now. When android auto is hooked up, it doesn't do the day/night mode correctly. It might stay at night mode for long time when it's sunny outside, and suddenly switch to day mode. The car itself is fine, all lights work as expected and the issue limits with android auto.

Any suggestions?

There is a recent NAV system update for the 2017 - perhaps downloading it and installing might fix things?

Any chance your phone is laying on top of the dash when attached where it might be partially blocking the ambient light sensor?
