I recently replace the pcv valve on my 1.6 elantra. If I take my foot of the accelerator the idling take a few seconds to return to idle. Also at cold start it idles at 2500 revs. How do set the air/fuel mixture and is there other valves that needs adjustments

No the problem happened before. I took the car to a garage and was told that it was the pvc valve. I replaced it but problem is still there. If I adjust the idle lower the car idle uneven. If I adjust it higher, it runs smooth and the revs indicate just above 500. But the moment I drive it, the idling is far to high and the revs take time to come back to idle. What can possibly couse this problem.

Did you get OEM (like from dealer) or aftermarket valve?
Many aftermarket parts are junk to begin with, or just wrong for the application.

I missed reply #3. Didn't realize it had issue before replacing PCV valve.
Maybe the throttle body is sticky, needs cleaning.

You shouldn't be adjusting the throttle stop screw to try and fix the problem. That just ends up either putting the TPS signal out or causing a binding throttle. I agree with Autospark. Start looking for an air leak.
