My son has an 06 Santa Fe with 2.7L

Engine sounds great.. but P306 error and limp mode with MAF attached, P306, no limp mode but very rough with MAF disconnected.. went down a rabbit hole.. replaced all sensors, spark plugs, coil pack etc. issue remained.. finally did a compression test and cylinder leakdown test

Cylinder 6 zero compression and leakdown test indicates intake valve.. Can hear and feel air pressure at Throttle Body.. No bubbles in radiator or air at dipstick tube.. No air detected at exhaust..

I have not removed the valve cover YET..

MECHANIC 1 SAYS complete rebuild .. $1500-$1700

Mechanic 2 says just replace all lifters on front bank ( back bank compression is 180-190 on all cylinders) estimate 4-6 hrs labor plus 100 parts

backyard mechanic/friend says try replacing valve spring and seals... ( his thought was bent valve would make a lot more more noise)

Anyone have experience with completely open intake valve?

Your going to need to pull the head.

Go to YouTube and search for 'fixing cars and stuff'. He's a professional and has many videos. Might be able to see if your valve can be fixed without removing head.

Real time labor guide shows 16.1 hours which includes a valve job.
