Hi Guys,
My Hyundai Accent 1997 has 132k kms. I noticed that lately it is consuming too much... Would cleaning the carborateur make some change? This mechanic told me that he cleans the carborateur and sets it with a computer.
What are your views?
Thanks

Don't know what they did in Europe, but isn't a '97 Accent fuel injected? Like there is no carburetor?

There is a lot of things that can lead to poor fuel consumption.

Did you change the air filter?
Spark plugs/ wires?
Timing belt tight?
Fuel filter?
Air pressure in tires?
O2 sensor?

Did the mechanic scan for codes?

Hi, I am not a mechanic but for sure here in Malta (europe), the 1997 1.3 GS Hyundai accents are with carborateur, the old type...not with Fuel injectors....

By the way, why shall the mechanic scan for codes ?
