Hello everyone,

I have a 09 Sonata 3.3 V6. AC clutch is not engaging and field coil is showing infinite resistance.

Anyone knows if the field coil can be replaced without removing the compressor?

Thanks

Probably can when new. On my Accent there was no way I could have gotten the c clip that holds the pulley on with the compressor in the car. If it is not rusted together and like new probably could. Or maybe you can unmount the compressor leaving the hoses on to get a better angle at it?

According to FSM field coil can be changed and is a serviceable component on the original factory compressor.

I replaced my original compressor ('07 Sonata 2.4L engine 117K miles) last month due to internal leak. I have a working original coil on the compressor as I had tested it before replacing the compressor .

I have posted it on classifieds here - FS - AC Compressor Field coil & Pulley

PM me if you are interested.

I can send you the service manual procedure too.
